Witham is an historic market  town with a population of around 20,000 people situated midway between Chelmsford and Colchester on the main A12. With its proximity to a good road network and fast rail links to London, Colchester and Ipswich, Witham is an ideal base for tourists and business travellers alike.

Pubs
Witham has a good selection of pubs, many of which serve food, including The Battesford Arms (a JD Wetherspoon pub), The George, The Albert, The Woolpack and The White Horse. All are within easy walking distance of The Grange.

Restaurants
Witham offers restaurants to cater for a variery of tastes. Crofters Brasserie caters for people who enjoy their dining in a warm, soothing, and sophisticated urban chic venue. There are two Chinese Restaurants - Lian and Ria - and Spice Destiny offers eat-in or takeaway Indian cuisine.

Attractions
Witham was once the home of Dorothy L Sayers and there is a statue of the celebrated novelist in the town.

Colchester & Chelmsford
Colchester is a Britain's oldest town and offers some excellent tourist attractions including Colchester Castle Museum and National History Museum, an Arts Centre and an excellent range of shops, both modern and traditional.

Chelmsford also has plenty to offer, including excellent shops and restaurants, county cricket, a 15th century Cathedral and two museums.
